A teenage boy spends his simple life in a secluded life with his parents unless a parasite appears on earth and intervenes in his life. 

After a failed attempt to enter Izumi’s body through the ear, the creatures get in him with his arms’ help. 

The story then moves on to a different level by giving Izumi a new distorted self. It also shows how even in such a crisis, two minds of two people can become one through a sacred thing called love. 

The show is a horror, sci-fi, and anime series. The show, though horrific yet is funny in some moments. The Japanese show started on 8 October 2014.

Ajin

This dark fantasy shows how life was stopped for a long time because of their power. 

From 16 January 2016, Ajin is written by Gamon Sakurai and Hiroshi Seko.  In this action fiction, a teenage boy’s life almost ends in an accident. 

Close to death Kei Nagai gets to know who he is, that is, the Ajin in him.

For survival, however, he has to listen to the demon society. How he will live his life is now the question to be pondered. 

Berserk

After the 1997 anime, this horror tv series is also based on the same manga series by Kentaro Miura and an acting sequel to the Golden Age Arc film trilogy. 

It is 24 episodes show that continued from 1 July 2016 to 23 June 2017.

The story presents Guts as the “Black Swordsman.” Guts, the wandering mercenary, is taken by a mercenary group called Band of the Hawk. 

He works for them. However, one day he experiences how Griffith, their leader, selfishly killed his followers and dreams of taking total control of the kingdom. 

Guts and his lover Casca try their best to keep themselves out of him, but the marks on their body won’t let them do so. 

The show will then depict how attaining the path of righteousness after sinning is more challenging than ever.

Goblin Slayer

This anime series is based on Kumo Kagyu’s Japanese dark fantasy light novel

Goblin Slayer is a 12 episodes series illustrated by Noboru Kannatuki and adapted by White Fox. 

Destruction of Goblins is very common to the protagonists of this type of dark series, and this is not much different as here, too, the hero lives his life by destroying the goblins. 

The change in his life occurs when he meets a new friend. 

Keep your eye on the show to experience more. The theme of the outset is “Rightfully” by Mili, whereas the final part is “Gin no Kisei” or “Silver’s Oath” by Soraru.

After 300 years of the Era of the Gods, Vertex aims to destroy humanity until that mysterious creature gets a human sacrifice. 

The deity protecting humanity tries to save humanity by granting superpowers to the members of a middle school “hero club” so that they can stop the violence.

Yuki Yuna is a Hero, started on 16 October 2014 and concluded on December 18, 2021, on MBS, TBS, and their affiliates.

Mononoke

Following the tradition of evil spirit culprits, this series presents a similar theme, much like Samurai Horror Tales. 

The journey begins with Mononoke following a medicine seller traveling in late Edo-period Japan. 

The traveling leads Mononoke to experience a lot of new things. Even he comes across spirits from Japanese mythology. 

To control such mysterious things, we must learn about the Form, Truth, and Reason of existence.

Mononoke was released on 12 July 2007.

Fate/Zero

Along with the pessimistic title of the series, the original Fate/Stay Night and the alternative Fate/Unlimited Blade seem to feature darkness. 

The show also contains horrors such as sacrificing children or betraying closest friends.

The story is adapted from the manga series. It has 25 episodes.

Made in Abyss

Haibane Renmei is a 13-episode anime series with in-depth psychology of the characters. Among the characters has the protagonist, who was born in the cocoon. 

The show was from 2001 of one season, released on 9 October 2002, and continued upto 18 December 2002.
