The first season of the anime adaptation aired in 2019, and Season 2 is currently airing. It is a historical fiction and action series set in Scandinavia during the 11th century.

The series follows the story of Thorfinn, a young Viking warrior who sets out on a journey of revenge against the man who killed his father.

Along the way, he becomes embroiled in the political machinations of the Norse world and is forced to question the beliefs that have driven him all his life.

Vinland Saga season 2 focuses on Thorfinn’s life as an enslaved person, with him no longer embroiled in getting vengeance for his father’s death. He meets Einar in this season, who helps him find new meaning in life, while King Canute is seen conquering lands to reclaim as the ‘promised land’ of his people.

The 6th episode of season 2, ‘I Want A Horse,’ will be released on 13th February, Monday, at around 9:00 pm (IST).

Season 2 episode 5 summary

Canute’s army arrived in Marcia as a conqueror in Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 5 when its representative Eadric yielded.

Eadric gives Canute 8,000 silver coins in exchange for his return from Marcia, but Canute refuses to depart because he claims he would rule England and persuades Eadric to betray the king.

Thorkell is also as furious after Canute orders the war to end when Eadirc submits. Canute finally persuades Eadric to poison the reigning King Ethelred II after demonstrating his powers to the latter.

His son eventually succeeded him as King of Britannia a year later. Everyone in England is aware of Canute’s kingship, and the populace recognizes him as the only king of England.

Season 2 Episode 6 Spoilers

The scene moves from Canute’s coronation as king to Ketil’s farm after a presumed time skip.

The 10-second preview from Episode 5 shows an issue in Ketil’s farm featuring a clean-shaven Thorfinn and Einer hard at work. They are seen speaking to Snake and Sverkell at their house.

The title ‘We Need A Horse’ indicates that this is another episode showing Thorfinn and Einer working hard to earn their freedom doing farm work.
