One thing Naruto’s makers are good at it is deeply meaningful characters and their backstories. The character of Itachi is complicated in itself but what’s more complicated is his abilities and hidden powers. Though he has limited screen time throughout Naruto, Itachi Uchiha managed to steal the hearts of thousands of fans from all over the world.

We all know how he killed his clan to save his brother and how he is undoubtedly one of the beloved characters in the entirety of the Naruto universe. But how much we know about his power, and how strong is Mangekyou Sharingan against other types of Sharingans. This post will look at Itachi Uchiha’s abilities and strengths in detail.
Why is Itachi Uchiha the most interesting character in Naruto?
Not being biased here, but Itachi had one of the most significant impacts on Naruto fans. From his mere gaze to his subtle movements, Masashi Kishimoto knew what he was doing with the character of Itachi and how he will impact the narrative of the series (at least for Sasake character developments).
The Naruto fandom will agree that Itachi was a talented boy in the entire Konoha village. His powers, speed, and agility are some of the qualities that make him the perfect anime protagonist. But that’s not all. He knew the burdens of life and how to sacrifice his loved one for peace. He was a true warrior who lived in shadows, all for the sake of his brother.
Since early childhood, Itachi was one of the strongest and most intelligent individuals in his village. Without much effort, he learned all he could in a short amount of time and mastered all the three Ninja skills in the Uchiha clan.
Now that we know the respect Itachi had regarding his skills and power let’s talk about his abilities and strengths. One of the legendary Sannin in Naruto, Orochimaru, also considered him more powerful than himself. Along with Orochimaru, Obita also confirmed that even after suffering from a terminal illness, he could’ve easily defeated Sasuke in their confrontation.
Itachi mastered everything he touched upon
Being from the Uchiha family, Itachi’s Chakra was naturally strong than his peers. We still don’t know how his illness affected his Chakra reserve, but he was able to use Mangekyou Sharingan three times in a single day, followed by rest for the next day. This could be the reason why he didn’t participate in big battles in the Naruto franchise. Unlike another character in Itachi’s timeline, the rogue Uchiha had a refined charka, allowing him to perform his ninja technique using a single hand. Along with that, Itachi was well versed in Taijutsu, and he used his physical skills to defeat three members of the Konoha military force at the age of 11.
With every improvement in his skill set, Itachi came close to Shisui Uchiha, who was considered one of the prodigies of Konohagakure’s Uchiha clan. His hand movement speed was above his peers, and he could outspeed any skilled Sharingan user in his village.
Itachi’s Ninjutsu allowed him to summon crows and make clones of himself
One of the coldest moments in Naruto is when Itachi uses his Ninjutsu. Several times, his opponents were left confused because of his unique powers. Itachi’s attacks were totally unpredictable, giving him an upper hand in any one-to-one battles.
And, of course, as viewers, we too were mesmerized by Itachi’s power to summon crows at his will. During his Anbu career, Itachi managed to do all his mission without anyone noticing him as if he was a shadow or a ghost of the series.
Itachi’s Bukijutsu made him the perfect assassin of Naruto universe
For the uninitiated, Itachi was also a prodigy in Bukijutsu. He was a skilled swordsman, and he knew how to swing a sword that actually kills people. During the Uchiha downfall and Anbu ark, Itachi was the favorite character in the series and he showed us the lengths he is willing to go to protect his loved ones from the war.
Following his footsteps, his younger brother “Sasuke” is also skilled in his Bukijutsu. Like his brother, Sasuke also uses a sword to fight his enemies, and we’ve seen how big of a threat the blade is when combined with Sasuke’s own Chakra.
Nature transformation allowed Itachi to become a literal god among humans
Itachi’s nature transformation included fire, wind, water, Yin, and Yang. Being the Uchiha he is, Itachi had gifted fire powers, which he improved during his training days. Itachi is also among the few who mastered the fireball Jutuse at a very young age.
What makes Itachi so unique is his Genjutsu, which is more deadly than death itself. Itachi also uses water dragon bullets without even using any external water source, making him more deadly than he already is. But wait, that’s not the best part.

Itachi’s Genjutsu allowed him to create a deadly illusion for his opponents
The one thing that I personally like about Itachi is his use of Genjutsu. Itachi has made people cry and beg in front of his Genjutsu. Genjutsu allows Itachi to create an illusion in his opponent’s mind, making them unable to understand the difference between reality and illusion. On some occasions, Itachi can also make his opponent’s brain dead by infusing horrifying information into their minds.
For Itachi’s fans, I am leaving some videos here so that you can check out some of the effects of Ultimate Genjutsu and how he can manipulate even the protagonist without much effort. We’ve seen the impact of Itachi’s Genjutsu with his fight against Kakashi and how deadly it is to fall into Itachi’s Genjutsu.
Itachi mastered Sharingan in his early childhood
Itachi was able to awake his Sharingan at the early age of 8 and mastered it to perfection. Itachi’s skills and use of Mangekyō Sharingan allowed him to be the best Ninja of his time. He was also known as the Itachi of the Sharingan in the nearby villages, making him a prodigy among his peers. One of the strongest points of Itachi’s Sharingan is he can use this ability by using a small amount of Chakra.
Itachi Uchiha can also use Izanagi and Izanami with his Sharingan, making him the completed package of a killer. Now, coming to Mangekyou Sharingan, Itachi Uchiha awakened this ability after witnessing the suicide of his best friend, Shisui Uchiha. Itachi uses Shisui’s left his left Mangekyō to perform Tsukuyomi, an extremely deadly Genjutsu that distorts the victim’s perception of time.
Another ability Itachi is known for is using the black flames. Infused with Mangekyo Sharingan, Itachi can use Amaterasu, available in his left eye. By using this technique, Itachi can burn down anything to dust. He has used Amaterasu multiple times and came out victories in every battle he’d been thrown to.
Itachi’s Susanoo is the strongest of all
Like Sasuke, Itachi can also create a Susanoo using the Mangekyou Sharingan present both in his eyes. Itachi can create multiple arms and bones in its uncomplete form for his Susanoo. Itachi’s Susanoo uses red color and is considered one of the strongest even without Hagoromo’s Chakra.
Itachi’s Susanoo is also armed with Totsuka Sword, known for sealing souls of anything it stabs. It is also equipped with Yata Mirror, which helps reflect all kinds of attacks on its opponents. These weapons made Itachi’s Susanoo unbeatable in battles against anyone in the Naruto franchise.
