A new teaser for the upcoming romance drama “Oh! My Guard” has arrived, and it sets up a story that is equal parts comedy and heartfelt love story.
The series follows Uhm Tae Bong, an A-list actor with a fatal flaw, played by CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Oh Hae Ra, played by Hong Seung Hee. She is a mysterious woman convinced she is Cha Hong Doo, the female lead of one of his dramas.
The teaser begins before Oh Hae Ra’s life changes. As a chaebol heiress who knows exactly who she is, she is also a devoted fan of Uhm Tae Bong. Her room is full of photos and merchandise of the actor, and while watching one of his dramas, she admits in voice-over that she wants to love someone in real life the way characters do on screen.
An Accident, a New Identity and a Self-Appointed Bodyguard

Then she is hit by a car. She wakes up with no memories and a new identity, believing she is Cha Hong Doo, a bodyguard with serious fighting skills. She takes the role seriously. In one scene she bursts onto the set of Uhm Tae Bong’s drama and fights off anyone she sees as a threat to him.
Uhm Tae Bong is baffled at first and asks who she is. He soon realizes, to his alarm, that she truly believes she is his bodyguard. As she follows him everywhere, he receives a warning that “kids who aren’t right in the head” are the scariest thing in the world.
Playing Along and a Budding Romance In Oh! My Guard
The situation grows stranger as those around him decide to humor her. One voice suggests they “play along with what that woman wants to believe,” and another responds with disbelief, asking whether this is “The Truman Show” and whether they are really expected to film a drama just for her.
The teaser closes with hints that something sweeter is growing between the two leads. Uhm Tae Bong admits he has no idea why he is acting the way he is, which suggests his feelings are catching up with him.
With its mix of mistaken identity, a fan-turned-protector, and an unlikely romance, “Oh! My Guard” looks like a fun watch for fans of the genre. The drama premieres on October 24 at 10:50 p.m. KST.
