MANGA Plus Begins Simultaneous English Release of Oblivion Battery Manga

Oblivion Battery Manga joins MANGA Plus with English simulpubs starting June 26, 2025—follow Haruka and Kei’s gripping baseball journey worldwide.

Shueisha’s global digital manga platform, MANGA Plus, has officially added Oblivion Battery Manga (Bōkyaku Battery) by Eko Mikawa to its growing list of simulpub titles. Starting June 26, 2025 (JST), readers worldwide can now enjoy new chapters in English at the same time they are released in Japan on the Shonen Jump+ platform.

The announcement was made via MANGA Plus’s official X account (formerly Twitter):

Oblivion Battery Manga: A Story of Talent, Amnesia, and Redemption

Oblivion Battery manga follows Haruka Kiyomine, an elite high school pitcher known for his perfection on the mound, and Kei Kaname, a brilliant catcher nicknamed the “General.” Kei, however, suffers from amnesia, a twist that adds psychological depth to the story. In their junior high years, the pair formed an unstoppable battery that ended many aspiring players’ dreams. Now attending the obscure Kotesashi High School in Tokyo, they reunite with several former opponents—players who once gave up on baseball after facing Haruka and Kei.

Eko Mikawa launched the manga on Shonen Jump+ in April 2018, and as of April 4, 2025, Shueisha has released 21 compiled volumes of the series. Its strong blend of sports action and character-driven drama has made it a standout in the baseball manga genre.

Expanding the Franchise: Anime, Stage Play, and More

The manga’s popularity led to its first TV anime adaptation in April 2024, with streaming rights secured by Crunchyroll. The cast includes Toshiki Masuda as Haruka and Mamoru Miyano as Kei. A second season has already been confirmed, continuing the story for anime fans.

Prior to the full series, Oblivion Battery was adapted into a short event anime by MAPPA during the Jump Special Anime Festa 2020, where Miyano also voiced Kei. Additionally, the franchise is set to make its stage debut with a theatrical adaptation running in Tokyo and Osaka in October 2025.

With the manga now available in English on MANGA Plus, global fans have the opportunity to follow the ongoing story of Oblivion Battery Manga in real-time. It’s a compelling narrative of lost memories, redemption arcs, and the unrelenting pursuit of baseball glory.
