I made this list for you and ranked each anime on my own preference. I filter the best anime for you. Watching anime is fun, but there are also some no-good anime series you should avoid. Each anime in this list is for everyone.
After the top 10 anime, there is one more list of honorable mentions. I can’t put every anime on the top 10 lists. There is a total of 11 honorable mentions of anime.

1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

The first one is the all-time best and highest rated anime on My Anime List. Full Metal Alchemist has two series. Full Metal Alchemist (FMA) and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (FMAB).
The story is about two brothers, Edward and Elfins. Also, about Alchemy – the law of equal exchange. At the start, they losses their body parts on his arm and leg and the other his whole body because of alchemy. The main point is to get their body or body parts back.
2. Attack On Titan

One of the most popular anime for the last 7 years and the most popular anime of 2021. Attack on Titan is a great combination of action and mystery. Here you get the most badass characters.
From the first episode, you will get hooked on this anime. The story is about Eren Yeager. A boy who loses everything at the start of the anime due to attacks by titans. Now, he wants to revenge by destroying each of them.
3. Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer is about Demons and Hashiras (top-ranking slayers). Do you ever imagine if our world were attack by demons, what you should do? Well, In demon slayer, that happens.
To destroy demons and save the world, we have demon slayers. The main protagonist’s whole family is murdered by Kibutsuji Muzan, except his sister. She is turned into a demon. Now his goal is to turn his sister back to humans and kill Kibutsuji.
4. Death Note

What would you do if you got a notebook that could kill people by writing their names? Light Yagami gets this chance and becomes the world’s biggest massacre.
The best thing about Death Note is it’s one shot. With only 37 episodes, you get a great experience. If I say anything, it would be a spoiler. But once this is for sure, every episode is 100% worth your time.
5. Naruto

2nd the best action-comedy anime after Attack On Titan. Everyone in their childhood wants to become a ninja after watching naruto. It is one of the best longest-running anime series out there.
Naruto is the name of the main character who wants to become a Hokage. The rank of most powerful ninjas. Naruto’s adventure is interesting and fun. I hope you will learn ninja techniques while watching Naruto.
6. Dragon Ball Z

Dragon Ball Z is the sequel to the Dragon Ball anime series. I am sure you know about it. Because Dragon Ball Z is super awesome, this was the first anime I ever watched (after Shinchan and Doremon).
Let me tell you if you live under a rock and don’t know what it is. Have you ever heard of Goku? He is the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series. Anime is about his journey to become the strongest in the world. If you love martial arts, then you love this anime too.
7. Fruit Basket
Genres: Slice of Life, Comedy, Supernatural, Drama, Romance, Shoujo

The first shojo anime on the list of top 10 anime or, I think, the only one. It’s time to dive into romance after 6 action anime series. If you want to watch a romance anime, then you do not get better than Fruit Basket.
Fruit Basket’s third and final season is 5th most-rated anime on My Anime List. With a 9.08 rating. Most people are not in this type of anime, but it does not mean Fruit basket is bad anime.
8. Steins; Gate

Do you like physics and time-traveling stories? Stein; Gate is all about time. Some people think Steins; Gate is the best anime ever made. If you are searching for an anime like Death Note (dark and thriller), it can be Steins; Gate.
The story is about a Mad Scientist who makes “future Gadgets.” The first few episodes are a little slow pace, but it’s important to teach you the basics. I mean to explain the surrounding.
9. Gintama
Genres: Action, Comedy, Historical, Parody, Samurai, Sci-Fi, Shounen

It deserves to be on the list of the top 10. On My Anime list, in the list of Top 10 anime, most of them are Gintama’s different anime series and movies. It is undoubtedly the best comedy-action anime in the anime universe.
Gintama is about Samurai and Aliens. It is for you if you want a show without using your brain. This one is the most enjoyable show without drama. I love it, and you will too.
10. A Silent Voice

The last one is not a series but a movie. One of the best anime movies out there and the highest-rated anime movie. A Silent Voice is amazing. It was one of the few anime movies which you can watch again and again without being bored.
It’s not just interesting but also teaches you a valuable life lesson. A Silent Voice has the correct combination of comedy and drama. There are moments where you laugh and also where you get emotional.
Top 8 honorable mentions (must watch anime series) 2023
My top 10 list is over, but there are more anime series which is amazing like others. The top 10 anime list is limited. They are almost equally good and amazing. Some of them are my favorites.
1. One Piece
Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Super Power, Drama, Fantasy, Shounen

Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older
The first is my all-time favorite, One Piece. One of the longest-running manga and anime series. With more than 1000 chapters in manga and around 990 episodes in anime.
One Piece is the same as Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. Our main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, wants to become the King of the Pirates. Anime and manga are both still running.
2. Cowboy Bebop
Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi, Space
Duration: 24 min. per ep.
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)
One of the best 90’s anime series, which is still popular among anime fans. An action, Sci-Fi, and comedy. Every episode is killer and enjoyable till the end.
This is one of few anime series more popular in America than in Japan. This one also has the title “True Classic”. If you are planning to watch a retro anime series, then you don’t find it better than Cowboy Bebop.
3. One Punch Man
Genres: Action, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Parody, Super Power, Supernatural

One-Punch Man has a very simple storyline. An overpowered character who can defeat anyone with a single punch. But the story’s main plot is that no one knows he exists in this world. He is Hero for Fun.
This is one of few anime series that makes you punch on the screen because of the annoying side characters. But anime is best and teaches you not to show off if you are exceptional.
4. My Hero Academia

In my recommendation, My Hero Academia is the best non-drama anime series. After Gintama, it is the best action-comedy anime. It is still releasing relating, currently 5th season.
The first season is good, with 12 episodes. But from the second season, it becomes interesting and awesome (because of its fight scenes). You get a feel of Marvel and DC in My Hero Academia.
5. Your Name

The most popular anime movie – Your Name. Some people say Your Name is overrated. But I don’t think. This movie has the best animation in the whole anime series. Sometimes you will confuse it with real-world scenes.
Your Name has the best combination of romance and supernatural genre. From the soundtrack to character development, everything is perfect. The story is simple, but the main plot is amazing. I did not expect that can happen (you will know when you watch).
6. Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Shounen, Super Power
Duration: 23 min. per ep.
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older
Hunter x Hunter is one of the popular anime series. The story is about Gon, Who wants to become a great Hunter. In this anime, the antagonist is more popular than the main characters. This anime can be in the list of top 10 anime list. But because of my own preference, I listed it on honorable mentions.
hunter x hunter has a slow start, but soon, it picks up the pace. I feel bad about this anime because despite being a killer anime, it is not popular anime like others.
but one thing is for sure every single episode is worth your time. All 148 episodes are awesome as hell.
7. Re: ZERO -Starting Life in Another World
Genres: Psychological, Drama, Thriller, Fantasy

Re: Zero is sure the best Isekai anime out there. It is enjoyable from the first episode. The main thing that makes Re: Zero awesome is its story. Super interesting.
The next best thing is its soundtrack. Engaging and a perfect combination with the scenes. The characters are adorable (I am talking about Rem). “The end is the beginning, and the beginning is the end” – you will know the actual meaning of this line in Re: Zero.
8. Jujutsu Kaisen
Genres: Action, Demons, Supernatural, School, Shounen
Duration: 23 min. per ep.
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)
The most hyped anime of 2021. Jujutsu Kaisen is a popular manga and now anime as well. An anime about demons and curses. This is not extraordinary anime or bad. But feel different while watching it.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a great combination of super action scenes and a storyline. But the best part of this anime is its characters. Each character is unique and has its own place. Even side characters are well-written.
